Tallien, Jean Lambert (1767–1820)

French revolutionary. In 1791 he became famous as the author of the Jacobin sheet, L'Ami des Citoyens, journal fraternel, placarded twice weekly on the walls of Paris. He proved himself a fanatical terrorist as commissioner of the Convention, but later led an attack on Robespierre. He was one of the Council of Five Hundred 1795–98. Tallien born in Paris, France.
