Tallulah

City and administrative headquarters of Madison Parish, northeastern Louisiana, 32 km/20 mi west of Vicksburg, Mississippi; population (1990) 8,500. In a rich lowland agricultural region, it produces cotton and cotton products, soybeans, timber, and poultry. Nearby lakes and bayous are noted for fishing.
