Tanglewood

Summer centre of the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO), located in Lenox, Massachusetts, and home of the Tanglewood Music Center, an institute for advanced musical study.

Russian-born US composer Sergei Koussevitzky held the first summer concert of the BSO here in 1936, and it was founded as the Berkshire Music Center in 1940. Each summer performances include concerts by the BSO, the Boston Pops, and the Tanglewood Music Center orchestra, as well as Jazz at Tanglewood, the Popular Artists Series, and the Festival of Contemporary Music.
