Tenasserim

Division of southern Myanmar, consisting of a narrow strip of land lying to the east of the Bay of Bengal, and bordering Thailand on the east; area 42,838 sq km/16,540 sq mi; capital Dawei. Rainfall is heavy in the region, and rice is grown where cultivation is possible. Some tin is mined.
