Tantallon Castle

Imposing fortress ruin on the north coast of East Lothian unitary authority, Scotland, set on a precipitous headland facing Bass Rock, 5 km/3 mi east of North Berwick. A former stronghold of the Earls of Douglas, it was destroyed in 1651 by the forces of Oliver Cromwell.
