Tapiola

Symphonic poem by Sibelius, Op. 112, composed in 1926 for the Symphonic Society in New York. The title is the old mythological name of Finland, derived from the forest god Tapio, who appears in the Kalevala. It was first performed in New York on 26 December 1926.
