Tarbolton

Former weaving and mining village in South Ayrshire unitary authority, Scotland, situated on Fail Water, 10 km/6 mi northeast of Ayr; population (2001) 1,700. It is the site of Coilsfield Castle, and has associations with the Scottish poet Robert Burns, who founded the Bachelor's Club debating society (now a museum).
