Tarr, Edward H(ankins) (1936– )

US trumpeter and musicologist. He studied in Boston, Chicago, and Basel (with Leo Schrade). He founded the Edward Tarr Brass Ensemble in 1967, for performances of Renaissance and baroque music, and edited the complete trumpet works of Torelli. He also plays works by Kagel, Berio, and Stockhausen (Michaels Reise um die Erde).
