Tarrant County

County in northeastern Texas; area 2,238 sq km/864 sq mi; population (1990) 1,170,100. Its capital is Fort Worth. It has dairying and livestock raising, and crops include grains, pecans, cotton, and vegetables, but it is increasingly occupied by the industry, commerce, and residential sections and suburbs of Fort Worth and Arlington.

The county is drained by the West and Clear forks of the Trinity River.
