Tasman Glacier

Glacier in the Southern Alps, in the south of South Island, New Zealand, on the east side of Mount Aoraki, 29 km/18 mi long and 2 km/1.25 mi wide. It is a tourist attraction, particularly for glacier skiing. The glacier was mapped and named in 1862 by Julius von Haast.
