Tausch, Julius (1827–1895)

German composer and conductor. A pupil of Schneider at Dessau and a student at the Leipzig Conservatory, he became conductor of the Künstlerliedertafel at Düsseldorf in 1847, and succeeded Schumann as conductor of the Music Society in 1855.

Works

incidental music to Shakespeare's Twelfth Night (1863); Festival Overture for orchestra; piano pieces; songs.
