Taylor, Robert Love (1850-1912)

US Democrat representative, senator, and governor. Elected to the US House of Representatives (1879-81), governor of Tennessee (1887-91, 1897-99), and senator (1907-12), he won fame and fortune as a popular speaker. Taylor was born in Carter County, Tennessee.
