Te Anau

Largest lake in South Island, New Zealand, in the Southern Alps; area 34 sq km/13 sq mi. The lake outflow, which is controlled as part of the Manapouri hydroelectric scheme, forms the Waiau River which links Te Aaau with Lake Manapouri.
