Teague, Walter Dorwin (1883–1960)

US industrial designer. Active in New York, he was a pioneer of industrial design in the 1930s. His first client was Eastman Kodak and he is best known for his redesign of Kodak's ‘Box Brownie’ camera in 1934 and his remodelling of Texaco's gas stations at the end of the decade, both in the popular ‘streamline’ style of the day.

He is often called the ‘dean of industrial design’, implying his leadership in the field. He chaired the Board of Design for the New York World's Fair 1939.
