telemedicine

In computing, the use of computer communications to improve medical practice and training. One example of its use is remote consulting, which involves a consultant using video-conferencing-type technology to examine a patient, and even to assist remotely during surgery. This kind of technology is invaluable for treating patients in far outlying areas, or in countries with limited medical resources.
