Temecula

City in southern California, 53 km/33 mi southeast of Riverside, on Murrietta Creek; population (1990) 27,100. Originally a farming and grazing community, it is rapidly becoming a residential city.

It was founded in 1882 on the railway through the Temecula Valley.
