Bell's palsy| Facial nerve palsy causing weakness of the muscles on one side of the face with inability to close the eye; sometimes hearing may be affected and there may be partial loss of taste. Rarely, both sides of the face are affected. The condition, which may be due to a viral infection, usually resolves spontaneously; or it may be treated with drugs or (rarely) surgery. |
