Teslin

River in southern Yukon Territory, Canada; length 190 km/120 mi. It flows out of Lake Teslin, which lies across the Yukon–British Columbia border, to the southeast of Whitehorse, and joins the Yukon River southeast of Carmacks.

Part of the ‘back door’ route for 1890s gold seekers heading for the Klondike, the lake and river now attract canoeists. The village of Teslin (population (1991) 200), on the lake's northeastern side, is a largely Teslin (Na-Dene) community.
