Tesuque

Community in north-central New Mexico, 11 km/7 mi north of Santa Fe, of which it is an affluent residential suburb; population (1990) 1,500. The Tesuque Pueblo (population (1990) 700) is just to the north. Today the Tewa-speaking pueblo produces pottery, painting, and sculpture; it was active in the 1680 Pueblo Revolt.
