Tétouan

City in northeast Morocco, near the Mediterranean coast, 64 km/40 mi southeast of Tangier; population (2004) 320,500. Products include textiles, building materials, leather, and soap. It is an important tourist centre. Tetuan is surrounded by walls and includes a citadel. It was settled by Muslim exiles from Spain in the 16th century, and was formerly the capital of Spanish Morocco.

On the Tuesday (September 29, 1pm) pianist Simon Passmore gives a recital of Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Liszt and Ravel, while there is Middle Eastern music from Joglaresa's performance, Dancing in Tetuan, at 7.
So, too, in a totally different way, was the concert entitled Dancing in Tetuan, an exploration of music inspired by the Sephardic Jews and performed by Graham Fitkin Joglaresa under the direction of Belina Sykes.
