Tewksbury

Town in northeastern Massachusetts, in Middlesex County, immediately southeast of Lowell, and 32 km/20 mi northwest of Boston; population (1990 est) 27,300. It is a growing industrial and residential suburb and is engaged in commercial flower growing, printing, woodworking, and the manufacture of electronic and missile components. It was incorporated in 1734.

Tewksbury's economy was originally focused on farming, grazing, and lumbering. A saw mill and tannery were built later.
