Thérèse of Lisieux, St (1873–1897)French saint. She was born in Alençon, and entered a Carmelite convent in Lisieux at 15, where her holy life induced her superior to ask her to write her spiritual autobiography. She advocated the ‘Little Way of Goodness’ in small things in everyday life, and became known as the ‘Little Flower of Jesus’. She died of tuberculosis and was canonized in 1925.
