Thames Ditton

Residential district of Surrey, southeast England; population (2001) 5,850. It is situated on the River Thames near the outer London borough of Kingston upon Thames. The Swan and Angel hotels date from the 16th century, and there are almshouses built around 1720. Hampton Court Palace is nearby.
