Berkshire Hills

Upland district of western Massachusetts, northeast USA. The mountains lie to the west of the Connecticut River and are a continuation of the Green Mountains of Vermont; they are part of the Appalachian Mountains. The highest point is Greylock (1,065 m/3,494 ft). As part of the Appalachian Trail, the area is a major tourist area.
