Moray Firth

North Sea inlet in Scotland, between Burghead (Moray) and Tarbat Ness (Highland), 38 km/24 mi wide at its entrance, and 48 km/30 mi from there to the Caledonian Canal. The city of Inverness is situated at the head of the Firth. The Spey, Findhorn, and Nairn are the chief rivers which flow into the Moray Firth.

These stunning images of the dolphins were taken as they hunted at Chanonry Point, near Fortrose, on the Moray Firth - home of the most northern colony of bottlenose dolphins in the world.
Seven bottlenose dolphins identified in the Moray Firth were tracked to islands on the west coast of Scotland and three of those to Cork and Galway.
On last week's visit we had a National Trust holiday rental in Cromarty with a view to seeing the much-lauded bottlenose dolphins of the Moray Firth.
