Thibaudet, Jean-Yves (1961– )

French pianist. He studied at the Lyon Conservatory from the age of five and at the Paris Conservatory 1974–81. He has given recitals and concerts throughout Europe and the USA and made appearances with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra (Hollywood Bowl, 1989). In 1994 he performed Ravel at the London Promenade Concerts. He has recorded chamber music with the violinist Joshua Bell, and Messiaen's Turangalîla-Symphonie with the Concertgebouw Orchestra.
