Thompson, Victor A(lexander) (1912– )

US political scientist. His books on bureaucracy and public administration include Bureaucracy and Innovation (1969) and Bureaucracy and the Modern World (1976). Thompson was born in Hannah, North Dakota. After earning a PhD from Columbia University, his academic career began at Illinois Institute of Technology (1950–62) and ended at the University of Florida: Gainesville (1971–81).
