Thornton, Kathryn Ryan Cordell (1952– )

US astronaut. She logged more than 975 hours in space during her four flights, including the first flight of the space shuttle Endeavour in May 1992. She also logged more than 21 hours of extravehicular activity. Thornton was selected as an astronaut in 1984 and left NASA in 1996.
