Armeria

Genus of 50 species of tufted perennials in the family Plumbaginaceae, commonly known as thrift. The leaves are deep green and linear, the flowers pink, red, or white, in dense heads 15-25mm across. A. maritima can be found on maritime cliffs and meadows, salt marshes and mountain rocks all over Britain and Northern Europe.
