Thuot, Pierre Joseph (1955– )

US astronaut. During his three space shuttle flights he logged more than 17 hours of extravehicular activity. On the first flight of Endeavour in May 1992 he undertook three space walks, including the first three-person group walk, the longest space walk to date at 8.5 hours. Thuot was selected as an astronaut in 1985 and left NASA in 1995.
