Tibetan mastiff

Large breed of dog regarded as the ancestor of many present breeds. It is a very powerful animal with a long black or black and tan coat. It is about 71 cm/28 in in height and 60 kg/132 lb in weight.

Tibetan mastiffs were used in Tibet as watchdogs and are mentioned in old Chinese literature and by Marco Polo.
