The flag: The rainbow flag often seen in Cuzco is the flag of the Tihuanaco Empire, now the city's own.
By 600 BC the first known Andean empire was established at Tihuanaco (tee-wan-A-koa), then located on the southern shores of Lake Titikaka.
The city tour costs $21 per person; Tihuanaco is $15; a walk around Chacaltya will cost $15; and two days and one night at Lake Titikaka costs $68.
