Tijuana

City and resort in northwestern Mexico, on the Pacific coast, in the state of Baja California; population (2000 est) 1,210,800. The border with the USA at Tijuana and San Diego is believed to be the busiest frontier in the world and there is a considerable tourist trade, for which local horse and dog racing, bullfighting, and casinos are attractions. Local industries include electronic equipment, textiles, and processed food.
