Tilney, Colin (1932– )

English harpsichordist. He studied at Cambridge and with Gustav Leonhardt. Widely heard since 1964 as a recitalist and soloist with leading ensembles, he plays on historical instruments and replicas. He is often heard in Bach, Purcell, and the English virginalists. He made his US debut in 1971.
