Tinker, Grant

Tinker, Grant (1926– )

US television producer. After working in advertising, he was a National Broadcasting Company (NBC) programmer (1961–67), moving to Universal Studios to be near his then wife, Mary Tyler Moore. They formed MTM productions in the 1970s. As NBC chairman (1981–86), he pulled the network from last to first place. After resigning, he founded GTG Entertainment (1986). Tinker was born in Stamford, Connecticut.
