Tischenko, Boris (1939– )

Russian composer. He studied with Shostakovich at the Leningrad Conservatory 1962–65 and taught there from 1965. He was made professor in 1986.

operas, including The Stolen Sun (1968); ballets The Twelve (1963), Fly-bee (1968), and The Eclipse (1974); six symphonies (1961–68); piano concerto (1962), two cello concertos, two violin concertos; five string quartets (1957–84); nine piano sonatas (1957–92); Akhmatova Requiem (1966); Garden of Music, cantata (1987); film music.
