Toeschi, Carl Joseph (1731–1788)

Italian composer and violinist. He was attached to the Mannheim school of early symphonists was its only Italian member. He became violinist in the court orchestra there in 1752 and leader in 1759. He later followed the court to Munich.

ballet music for various operas by other composers; symphonies; chamber music.
