Togni, Camillo (1922– )

Italian composer and pianist. He studied composition with Casella in Rome 1939–43 and piano with Michelangeli. He also graduated in philosophy from Pavia University in 1948. He has composed in an advanced serial idiom.

Variations for piano and orchestra (1946); Psalmus 127 for voices, violin, viola and cello (1950); Choruses after T S Eliot for chorus and orchestra; Fantasia concertante for flute and string orchestra (1958); Tre studi per ‘Morts sans sépulture’ di J P Sartre and Helian di Trakl for soprano and piano; Ricerca for baritone and five instruments (1953); flute sonata.
