Tolland County

County in northeastern Connecticut, on the Massachusetts border; 1,067 sq km/412 sq mi; population (1990) 128,700. Its capital is Tolland. Largely rural, it has no major cities. The economy is based on a mix of agriculture and manufacturing, and on commerce around the university community at Storrs.
