Torphichen

Village in West Lothian unitary authority, Scotland, 8 km/5 mi northwest of Livingstone; population (2001) 600. Torphichen Preceptory was formerly the Scottish headquarters of the Knights Hospitallers of St John of Jerusalem, a medieval military religious order.

Cairnpapple Hill, site of a prehistoric burial and ritual complex, lies 2 km/1 mi to the southeast in the Bathgate Hills.
