The dolls represent Toyotomi Hideyoshi (1536-1598), one of the three great unifiers of Japan in the 16th century, mounted on horseback, and three of his generals, Kasuya Sukezaemon, Wakisaka Zinnai and Kat?
In the late 1590s, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, who unified Japan out of warring states, used Tsushima as a base to invade Korea.
The castles were built between 1592 and 1598 during two periods of Japanese invasions of the Korean Peninsula led by Japanese warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
