Tracy| City in north-central California, 96 km/60 mi east of San Francisco and 26 km/16 mi southwest of Stockton, in the southern part of the San Joaquin delta; population (1990) 33,600. It is a trade and shipping centre for producers of fruit and vegetables, especially asparagus. It also has a military distribution depot and produces sugar, dairy goods, glass, and other products. |

Tracy| City in southern Québec, Canada, 68 km/42 mi northeast of Montréal, on the south bank of the St Lawrence River near the mouth of the Richelieu River; population (1991) 13,200. A new city (1954) in a long-established industrial area, it processes iron, steel, and titanium, and is economically tied to the shipbuilding and other industry of neighbouring Sorel. |
