Treacy, Philip

    0.01 sec.

Treacy, Philip (1967– )

Irish milliner. Treacy was born in County Galway and following graduation from the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, won a scholarship to study at the Royal College of Art, London. As well as working for private clients, he designed hats and accessories for fashion labels such as Versace, Valentino, Chanel, and Givenchy.

Treacy's hats can be simple, abstract shapes, or extravagant and unconventional, for instance a dyed black feather hat in the form of a sailing ship, entitled ‘The Ship’ (1995). He designed hats for the wedding of Prince Charles to Camilla Parker Bowles in 2005 and has also designed sportswear for Umbro and furniture for Habitat.
