Treleaven, John (1949- )

English tenor. He studied in London and Naples. He has made appearances with the Welsh National Opera as Tamino, Alfredo, Pinkerton, and Tippett's Mark; with the English National Opera ensemble as Don José, Cavaradossi, the Berlioz Faust, Hoffmann, and Don Carlos; at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, as Tamino and Peter Grimes; and with with Scottish Opera, as Florestan, Werther, and Radames. Other roles include Gluck's Pylades (Paris Opéra), Prince Golitsin in Khovanshchina (San Francisco, 1990), and Siegmund (Mainz, 1993). He has performed in concert since 1981, including Verdi's Requiem and Elgar's The Dream of Gerontius.
