Triennial Act

Three 17th-century acts attempting to ensure British parliaments met at least once in three years. The first statute 1641 required that parliament should meet every three years, for at least 50 days. The measure fell into abeyance and was reinstated by an act of 1664. The final act 1694 stipulated that parliament should meet at least once every three years and not last more than three years.
