sea robin

Any of a family (Triglidae) of spine-finned coastal fishes, especially the slender sea robin Prionotus scitulus of the Gulf and southeast North American coast. They have large heads and creep along the sea bottom by means of three fingerlike appendages detached from the pectoral fins.
