Trinity Bay

Trinity Bay

Inlet of the Atlantic Ocean in southeastern Newfoundland, Canada, between the Avalon Peninsula and the Bonavista Peninsula, 65 km/40 mi northwest of St John's; length over 100 km/60 mi; width up to 40 km/25 mi.

Heavily indented, it is ringed with small outports (fishing villages), including Heart's Delight, Heart's Desire, and Heart's Content, and has a maritime, fish-based history.

Trinity Bay

Northeastern arm of Galveston Bay, in southeastern Texas, at the mouth of the Trinity River; width 3–19 km/2–12 mi. It is bordered by lowlands that are one of the major rice producing areas in the state.

Anahuac (population (1990) 2,000), a former Mexican military post and now a market centre and the administrative headquarters of Chambers County, is at the north end of the bay.
