Tritto, Giacomo (1733–1824)

Italian composer. From around 1760 he wrote over 50 operas. He also wrote treatises on thorough-bass and counterpoint. A pupil of Cafaro at the Conservatorio dei Turchini in Naples, he later taught there and in 1806 became co-director (with Paisiello and Fenarolo).
