Trombetti, Ascanio (1544–1590)

Italian composer. He wrote four books of madrigals 1573–87. From the 1560s he was in the service of the Signoria of Bologna, where he played the cornett. From 1583 he was maestro di cappella at the Church of San Giovanni at Monte.

Sacred and secular music

motets in 5 to 12 parts for voices and instruments; madrigals for four to five voices, napolitane for three voices.
