Truly, Richard Harrison (1937– )

US astronaut and NASA administrator. He flew with the November 1981 mission of the space shuttle Columbia, the first reuse of a shuttle and the first to carry a scientific payload. He also flew on the Challenger mission in 1983 that accomplished the first night-time launch (30 August) and landing (5 September). He was selected as an astronaut in 1965 and left NASA in 1983.
